最近のニュース

もうそろそろ東京モーターショーが始まりますね〜。まあ発表される車種のほとんどはわかってるんですけどね。　でももっと写真とかを見れると思うとワクワクです。　特に新GT-Rとかは注目ですね。
それにしてもこの時期の日本は楽しいですね〜。もう帰りたくてしょうがない。１月のアメリカみたいにイベントがありまくりで毎日新しいものが発表されるような勢いで。東京ゲームショーから始まって、CEATEC、そしてモーターショー。１月のアメリカはラスベガスのCESから始まって、MacWorldで、そしてデトロイトモーターショーと発表ばっかり。

まあそれはおいといて、この間発表されたMSのZuneですけど、どうですかな〜。たいした進化はしてないんですよね。あえて言うならWi-Fi Syncですかね。それとまあがんばったと思うのが、ネットで音楽を帰るようにするとか。それとは逆にだめなのはフラッシュメモリーベースの新しいプレーヤーの画面サイズ、１．８型ですよ。どう考えても時代遅れ。そこでビデオみろと？いやいやいやいや、ナノでも２型になったのにそれはないでしょ？　まあHDD搭載の方は８０GBになって液晶も３.2型でよろしいんですけどね。でも全体的にインパクトのないラインアップで、まあこんなもんかと思ったのが正直なところですかね。まあがんばってくださいってところですかね。でもこの発表で本当の的はiPodじゃなくて、今までWindowsMediaPlayerをサポートして来てくれたCreativeのZENや、東芝のGiga Beatとかだといわれてるようです。まあ何となくわからなくもないって感じでしょうか。

この前のエントリーで言いました、ONKYOのSotecの買収についてのこと、何週間後かに日経のウェブサイトに面白い記事がありました。音響業界関係の歴史とかを詳しく分析しながら書いてました。納得までは行きませんでしたけど、まあ何かが見えてくるような感じでした。リンクがなかなか見つからなかったんですけど、興味があれば探してみてください。

昨日はLinuxの人気ディストロ、Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbonが発表されました。一つ前のなら使ったことあるんですけど、何がかわったのかスクリーンショットを見てもいまいちわからないんですよね。興味はあるんですけど、何かもっと惹かれるものがあってほしいってのが正直なところですかね。もう一つのFedoraCoreの方も気になってるところで、時間があったらライブCDででも試す予定です。リナックスもいいんですけど、今月の２６日に発売になるレオパード、これが今一番気になってるところです。その理由が何ヶ月か前からマックに乗り換えたからです。経済的な面でミニにしたんですけどね。本当にブックのプロが欲しいんですけどね、それは自分で働いてからですかね。高いし。まあ、レオパードはそんなに高くないですし買えなくもないんですけど、今のミニ＋２１CRTで新しいOSにしたくないんですよね。だから多分半年は様子見ですかね。その間に安定するでしょうし。

Events events...new Zunes

There comes the period of the year of events in Japan. Starting with the TGS which after the death of the E3, if you saw the pictures, became the world's largest game show. Then, going on right now is the CEATEC, which is the equivalent to the CES in Las Vegas. This year the buss about the this displays is overwhelming. Starting with the Organic EL 11 incher Sony. And following Hitachi, Sharp and JVC/Victor. I remember reading in the neas a couple of months ago that Samsung said that Sony won't be able to launch the OEL display this year. HOWEVER, they did. And when it somes to Samsung, they seem to be under performing these days. By contrast, most Japanese companies are blossoming. Well, technology chanegs rapidly, so these companies should not be resting asured that they will be fine.
Ok, and the last but not the least, or maybe for some the biggest, is the TMS. Tokyo Motor Show 2007. I was ther for the 2003 one and it was amazing. So much stuff to do and see that a day is not enough.

Just announced today, the new Zunes that won't go on sale until Nobember. The new flash ones with Wi-Fi. The 80GB one with 3.2 inch display. The flash ones with 1.8 inch? Thats so last generarion. Only two things cought my attention. 3.2inch screen and Wi-Fi syncing. 0.2 inches bigger than the iPod classic. Wi-Fi syncing. I think it will be alright for the flash one thinking about the amount of data, but for the 80GBs. Ok maybe you put your stuff first big files and then for little updates like new songs you just downloaded yeasterday you can use the Wi-Fi sync.
Sounds ok. But design. These look like from any company. The 80GB, a black rentangular brick with a chrome ring. nothing special. In an interview with BusinessWeek, J Allard was saying how serious he was about giving this some taste because of the video of Steve Jobs saying that Microsoft has no taste. And is that all he can do? How disappointing it is. I was expecting better things. And this device is not made by Toshiba any more? That was the only reason I was for a while thinking of nuying one. I don't know the details anyway but thats what I read somewhere.
